The Director of Sales, Produce, will lead and grow Tosca’s Produce Supply Chain, which includes Produce and Fresh Kitchen. The Director will set strategy, manage a team, and direct all efforts downstream into grocery retail and upstream within processors and growers. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a sales team, knowledge in the produce space, a solid commercial background ‐ including experience selling into retail, supply chain understanding, leadership ability, and a desire to sell emerging products and services.


This is a fully remote role, but candidates should live in Northern California or the surrounding area.


Job Responsibilities


  • Lead the Tosca produce sales team in North America, which includes establishing and executing strategy and growth initiatives, training and coaching the team members, and managing the budget. 
  • Develop and drive retail market strategy (i.e., downstream) in North America
  • Develop and drive upstream (i.e., growers and processors) market strategy.  
  • Train, coach, and support team members on best sales practices to effectively communicate Tosca’s value proposition. 
  • Hold team accountable for best practices, budgets, and pipeline growth. Help them close new profitable opportunities. 
  • Help uncover, develop, and drive new packaging solutions in existing and new supply chains.
  • Develop expertise in produce industry trends, economic indicators, and competitive intelligence.   
  • This position will work with Leadership to develop strategies to drive RPC conversions at the retail level. 




  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of Sales or Sales Management 
  • Experience in Produce Supply Chain or Grocery Retail sales experience preferred.
  • Business-to-business sales experience.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Ability to lead sales efforts by:
    • Managing a team 
    • Managing a budget 
    • Sales and marketing strategy development
    • Market research – including supply/demand/industry structure analysis 
    • Supply chain analyses – complete cost comparisons of different packaging types throughout the supply chain to identify cost differentials and areas of opportunity
  • Identify opportunities to grow returns and bottom-line based on current capabilities.
  • Understand price/volume trade-offs and overall profit maximization
  • Must be willing to travel with overnight stays.
