Job Description


Tosca is currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager for our Portage, IN location. The Maintenance Manager will lead all aspects of facility & machine maintenance for their wash center to enable optimal performance of equipment and production. They will ensure the safe and appropriate operation of equipment through proper diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of production/processing machinery and other mechanical equipment.


In this role, you will be responsible for:


  • Leading maintenance team members, and building collaborative working relationships with engineering, production, and management.
  • Repairing and maintaining machinery, mechanical equipment, and electrical and computerized systems
    • Equipment examples include pumps, conveyor systems, motors, facility systems (HVAC), etc.
  • Expanding preventative & predictive maintenance programs, including crucial component reliability & work order management.
  • Determining trends in work order & repair history to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Effectively troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and process issues in an independent manner.
  • Reducing downtime by performing root cause analysis on failures.
  • Identifying & leading projects that will reduce cost and increase throughput.
  • Managing spare parts, purchasing/inventory programs, and R&M budgets.
  • Using basic computer skills to perform maintenance and repairs on computer-controlled machinery, PLC controls, VFD drives, and instrumentation.




  • A minimum of 5-years of maintenance experience and 2-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in industries with strict food safety requirements (e.g., Dairy, Food, and/or Beverage industry).
  • Education requirements include post-secondary school credentials in engineering, electrical, mechanical, or trade programs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) (e.g., maintenance, Maintenance Connection, MP2, etc.) or the ability to learn these systems.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills. Must be able to systematically diagnose electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical problems.
  • Ability to logically determine mechanical/electrical/process control system functions to determine the most efficient method of resolving malfunctions.
  • Working knowledge of boilers, PLC's, electrical, VFD drives, compressors, process instrumentation, HVAC, and industrial wash machines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
  • Possesses strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer hardware and software skills.
  • Lean 5S training and experience preferred.
  • Welding and fabrication skills preferred (MIG, TIG, Arc).
