As the National Accounts Manager - Protein, your goal will be to expand Tosca’s presence in the protein supply chain within the retail and commercial marketplace. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commercial background, including sales and marketing experience, retail knowledge, supply chain expertise, and a proven ability to lead and sell emerging products.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Profitable Growth: Grow Tosca’s footprint with key strategic supplier accounts, both internally within the supplier network and by working with the retail team to drive growth into retail.
  • Account Management: Develop and execute account management strategies for assigned strategic accounts.
  • Business Development: Lead new business efforts with strategic accounts and collaborate with sales and business development teams to close profitable deals.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and expand relationships with key stakeholders across supply chain, sustainability, packaging, and operations.
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify and secure new retail opportunities, leading trials and closing deals that result in new profitable business.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, including plant-to-plant and plant-to-retail channels.
  • Strategy Development: Work with supplier and retail teams to develop strategies that drive reusable packaging conversions, particularly in emerging supply chains like poultry, deli, foodservice, and prepared foods.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the protein supply chain or retail sales, preferably in perishable goods or packaging.
  • Proven experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales with a focus on high-value sales and closing.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Experience conducting market research and supply chain analyses to drive business decisions.
  • High level of energy, entrepreneurship, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required, including overnight stays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.

Work Schedule

Location: Remote (U.S.) – Preference for candidates in Central & Western regions, with proximity to a major airport for travel
Travel: Up to 50%
