Job Description

The Director of Reverse Logistics is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of the reverse supply chain, including returns management and disposition strategies. This role will develop and implement processes to maximize recovery value, minimize waste, and improve efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, data-driven decision-making, and operational expertise to drive cost savings and customer satisfaction. This role specifically supports a company that works with retailers to pick up assets such as recyclable plastic containers, bins, and pallets for return to Tosca service centers. The Director of Reverse Logistics will execute reverse logistics operations to maintain the circular flow of products and materials and enhance customer relationships by identifying areas for improvement in the overall customer experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive reverse logistics strategy aligned with company objectives.

  • Optimize product returns to improve operational efficiency and financial recovery.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, customer experience, finance, and sustainability teams to streamline reverse logistics processes.

  • Collaborate directly with Tosca Retail customers and present innovative reverse logistics solutions to facilitate and ease conversion to our pooled programs. 

  • Manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers and service providers for returns processing.

  • Work directly with store managers when required to coordinate asset pickups and ensure seamless logistics operations.

  • Provide operational support by physically inspecting storerooms/warehouses, offering assistance when needed, and proactively identifying, documenting, and resolving emerging issues.

  • Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries, concerns, issues, and escalations related to the transportation of asset returns.

  • Develop mitigation strategies to address inventory and logistics impacts.

  • Partner with support teams to create awareness of new projects and highlight key actions.

  • Monitor subcontractor performance to agreed contracts, communicating risk and priority shifts.

  • Collaborate with 3PLs and customers to review, update, and establish process improvements for SOPs.

  • Support the development of dashboards to effectively communicate warehouse performance metrics and insights to stakeholders.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve cycle times, and enhance customer experience.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations related to waste disposal, sustainability, and environmental impact.

  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure efficiency, cost reduction, and revenue recovery.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a specialization in Supply Chain, a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or related fields.

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, tracking, and controlling tasks to achieve goals.

  • 3+ years of demonstrated people management experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making.

  • Ability to use critical thinking to develop, evaluate, recommend, and present best options.

  • Experience managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers and service providers.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a commitment to driving results.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency in ERP and data analytics tools preferred.

  • 25% travel to support multiple locations.

Work Schedule

Atlanta GA Office - Hybrid in office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday each week.
